Tuesday launched <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qplay</a>, a brand-new company that aims to bring a new 
level of personalization to Internet TV.
<br />
Comprised of an iPad app, a TV adapter and a dedicated cloud service,
 <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qplay</a> is designed to let users curate Internet video from across the 
Web and create "Qs," the company's name for personalized and shareable 
streams of content. The iPad app is used for discovery, playback and 
control, while the cloud service manages and accesses content.<br />
The <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qpla</a>y TV adapter -- which is smaller than a deck of cards -- is now available to early adopters at 
<a href="http://qplay.co/" target="_blank">qplay.co</a> for a limited-time discount price of US$49.<br />

No Netflix or Hulu Plus

which are virtual, on-the-fly channels around their favorite interests. 
Social Qs, on the other hand, leverage social discovery to bring videos

Though it's entering an increasingly crowded market already populated by
 the likes of Chromecast, Roku and Apple TV, Qplay may have a distinct 
advantage.<br />
"<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qplay</a> delivers content in a different way from other streaming 
devices," the company said in a statement provided to TechNewsWorld by 
spokesperson Tierney Oakes. Specifically, it's "translating channels 
into apps, and that just isn't scalable."<br />
Because Qs can contain content from multiple sources, "including your
 friends, Qplay is more flexible and provides a more personalized and 
entertaining experience," <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qplay</a> noted, "and only Qplay gives you the 
power to publish those Qs, letting you create and share a virtual TV 
network on-the-fly."<br />
In short, "there are tons of streaming services out there, but you're
 still searching for content," the company said. "There's no 
serendipity. That's something Qplay solves."

<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qplay's</a> interface and social features "should be appealing" to users, Brett Sappington, director of research for <a class="story-keyword-offsite" href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html">Parks Associates</a>, told TechNewsWorld.<br />
The key, however, is always content, he added.<br />
"If Qplay can get access to interesting or exclusive content, then they have a chance to be a player," Sappington said.<br />
<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">Qplay </a>is one of many streaming boxes expected to reach the market 
during the next year to compete with industry leaders Roku and Apple TV,
 he noted.<br />
"Although the personalized channel and second screen interaction 
provide Qplay with a measure of differentiation, the other players have a
 significant lead in retail distribution, content partners and consumer 
awareness," Sappington pointed out.<br />
In addition, "Amazon's anticipated entry into this space will bring 
new competition from an online industry <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/qplay-with-new-spin-on-internet-tv.html" target="_blank">giant</a> with a recognized brand, 
advertising network and successful online video service," he said.

Google Hangouts for iOS gets visual makeover

messaging app on iOS. Version 2.0 is the first major update since the 
company added phone calls late last year, and aside from introducing a 
visual refresh that’s more consistent with <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/google-hangouts-for-ios-gets-visual.html" target="_blank">Apple’s </a>current design 
language, it also brings several new features including animated 
stickers, 10 second video messages, and a two-pane view on the iPad.<br />

Google’s Frank Petterson made the <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/google-hangouts-for-ios-gets-visual.html" target="_blank">announcement on Google+</a>
 this morning along with a quick rundown on the new features. The app 
offers shortcuts to your Hangouts contact list, favorite people to chat 
with, recent Hangouts, and voice calling to regular phones over the 
Internet -- free in the US and Canada only.<br />

The new<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/google-hangouts-for-ios-gets-visual.html" target="_blank"> video</a> messaging feature works within the same camera option 
under the paper clip icon found at the bottom left of open chats. 
Whereas tapping the shutter button produces a quick snap to share in 
one-on-one or group chats, holding down the same button will start 
recording up a 10-second video message. You can also send images from 
your device’s camera roll (still no pre-recorded videos, though), send 
one of the<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/google-hangouts-for-ios-gets-visual.html" target="_blank"> app’s</a> 40 or so animated stickers and share a map of your 
current location to meet up with friends.<br />

view as well as picture-in-picture video calling, which supports up to 
10 simultaneous users and is essentially a free video conferencing

Petterson also cites a bunch of performance improvements but the much 
requested integration with Google Voice is still a no show. There’s also

conference in Iceland, the service is an anonymous instant messenger

already gone into experimental release and is set to launch a public

While things like TorChat already boast a considerably large userbase, 
some have suggested an anonymous chat service fully integrated into the

 has put the focus on its security measures for TIMB front and center,

One sure fire way to boost the number of people using your software is 
to give it away for free. That’s the approach Microsoft is reportedly 
taking in creating a new version of their latest OS, tentatively dubbed 
Windows 8.1 with Bing.<br />

The software will come bundled with select Microsoft apps and services 
according to sources familiar with the company’s plans as reported by <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/03/microsoft-plans-for-free-version-of.html" target="_blank">The Verge</a>.
 It will be marketed as a low-cost upgrade option for those currently 
running Windows 7 although a target price point wasn’t mentioned. The 
Redmond-based company may license the software to PC makers for devices 
in the sub-$250 price range.<br />
<br />

In addition to growing its Windows 8.1 user base, Microsoft is also 
hoping the experimental initiative (and others like it) will help 
monetize their cloud services and apps like Bing, OneDrive and Xbox 
Music. But perhaps the real reason that Microsoft is looking into a 
freebie version of Windows is to combat the growing threat of 
Chromebooks and Android.<br />

Another such experiment is the consideration of low-cost or free versions of Windows Phone, we’re told.<br />
<br />

Sources say we can expect to hear more about Windows 8.1 with Bing and 
plans to merge Windows Phone with Windows RT during Microsoft’s annual <a href="http://www.buildwindows.com/" target="_blank">Build conference</a>. That event is scheduled to kick off on April 2 from the Moscone Center in San Francisco and run through April 4.<br />

It's been only days since Apple fixed the wide spread <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank">iOS</a> security flaw that made <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">headlines</a>, and now <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">another issue</a> has surfaced. A network security company has spotted another hole that is allowing malicious software to watch your every move.

Security firm<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> FireEye</a> spotted the issue and was able to get a dummy app
 onto the App Store to prove it, a technique many security groups use as
 proof of concept. The particular security flaw at hand, which is 
present on the newest version of <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank">iOS</a>, allows for apps to track your 
keystrokes made possible by<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> iOS</a> 7's multitasking features. The process 
will track your moves while running as a background process, potentially
 without the users knowledge.<br />
FireEye explained its proof of concept app further saying this 
"monitoring app can record all the user touch/press events in the 
background, including touches on the screen, home button press, volume 
button press and TouchID press, and then this app can send all user 
events to any remote server," the company explained. It goes on to say 
that it was able to exploit this vulnerability on<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> iOS</a> 7.0.4 as well as<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank"> 
iOS</a> 7.0.5, 7.0.6 and 6.1.x.<br />
Fortunately from the sounds of it, this security flaw can only be 
exploited when you download something you shouldn't. While we are 
waiting for <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/apps-can-track-keystrokes-becz-iphone.html" target="_blank">Apple</a> to patch things up, reports say that even if something
 does hit your system in this way, it can be easily rectified by paying 
close attention to your background processes and then ditching anything 
shady.

 the first of its kind in the mobile industry. Since then, a number of 
other chip makers have put their 64-bit ambitions into overdrive to keep
 pace including Samsung.<br />

The Korean tech giant expects to join the 64-bit race later this year. During a recent <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">chat</a>
 with CNET at <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/samsung-waiting-for-android-64-bit.html" target="_blank">Mobile</a> World Congress, Kyushik Hong, vice president of 
marketing for Samsung's system LSI business, said 64-bit was very 
important in the sense that there is a real demand regardless of whether
 or not it is needed.<br />
<br />

As such,<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/samsung-waiting-for-android-64-bit.html" target="_blank"> Samsung </a>is actively working on it and their chip will be ready
 whenever the operating systems and ecosystem (Android) moves to 64-bit.
 Apple enjoys an advantage in this area as they control both the 
operating system and the design of their processors. Crafting the 
hardware and software under the same roof means they don’t have to wait 
on one side to “catch up” to the other.<br />

Apple and Samsung aren’t the only ones invested in 64-bit. Late last 
year, Qualcomm moved to 64-bit with the announcement of the mid-range <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/samsung-waiting-for-android-64-bit.html" target="_blank">Snapdragon</a> 401 SoC and earlier this week, the company revealed two more 64-bit chips: the <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/samsung-waiting-for-android-64-bit.html" target="_blank">Snapdragon </a>610 and 615. Intel also showed its hand at Mobile World Congress earlier this week with the<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/samsung-waiting-for-android-64-bit.html" target="_blank"> Merrifield</a> and Moorefield mobile chip lineup while Nvidia did the same at last month's CES with its Tegra K1 SoC.<br />
<br />

With plenty of hardware in the works, it’s now up to <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/samsung-waiting-for-android-64-bit.html" target="_blank">Google</a> to come up with a 64-bit version of Android.

BitTorrent is a torrent client for sharing data via the BitTorrent 
protocol. The software enables users to share, search, download and 
upload application, music, video, document, picture and other files. 
BitTorrent supports download of multiple files in parallel from 
different peers. For every download or upload the interface shows 
download and upload speed, file size, file name, progress, seeds, peers 
etc. Overall usage can be monitored in tabular and graphical views. New 
torrent or magnet files (compatible with Azureus) can be added through 
torrent sites or from within BitTorrent.

Google Chrome reset feature for combat browser hijacking

 a new feature to its <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/google-chrome-3301750117.html" target="_blank">Chrome</a> browser that automatically warns users when
 malicious software is tampering with their settings. Google VP of 
engineering Linus <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/google-chrome-3301750117.html" target="_blank">Upson</a>, <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">announced</a>
 the update recently on the Google <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/google-chrome-3301750117.html" target="_blank">Chrome</a> Blog. The new feature is 
designed to update and enhance one introduced in the Fall of last year 
that allows Chrome users to easily reset browser settings back to their 
original state.<br />

<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/google-chrome-3301750117.html" target="_blank">Hijacker</a>s can introduce malicious code through free software downloads 
and things of that nature that alter Chrome settings, as you may know. 
Typically they introduce ads and other methods of monetization into your
 daily web browsing and then lock you out so you can't revert back to 
the factory settings.<br />
<br />

<a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/google-chrome-3301750117.html" target="_blank">Upson</a> explains that even though <a href="http://askneed.blogspot.com/2014/02/google-chrome-3301750117.html" target="_blank">Google</a> introduced the revert function last October, settings hijacking remained the company's "number one user complaint."
 He goes on to say the feature will prompt "Windows users whose settings
 appear to have been changed" to set the system back to the factory 
default by clicking "<span style="color: red;">Reset</span>" when the window seen below appears:<br />

typical human fingernail, this new card is packed with 128GB of storage

 mobile storage to various digital gadgets like digital cameras. Early
